Link excel with Access

I have a large Access database with 140,000+ records. I would like to be able to link this with Excel but have it in a pivot table or something similar so the user can only select a small portion of the database. If I could create a query of some sort in Excel to query the database that would work also. Any ideas or help? Thanks!

It is possible. Use Data - Import External Data - New Database Query... in Excel 2003 or Data- GetExternal Data - From Access in Excel 2007. You can get data from a table or a ready-made Query of access.
It is just a link so it would be refreshed any time those database have been change.
