I created an Access Application already and i placed the application on the server and noticed it to be slow in loading the forms and retrieving data.

So I figure if I linked the tables of my application and place only the table on the server, and have the GUI be stored local on User computer it would run faster. But I find it to be even more slower. Can anyone help me out figuring why is this? All I did was use the database splitter feature of MS Access 2000 to link all of my tables.

Any help is greatly appreciative

Would it be faster if I converted my MS Access tables to MySQL tables. From their have my MS Access GUI (locally) be linked to the MySQL tables that are on the server?

Anyone with some suggestion/advice?

You might try looking at this recent thread:

MySQL With Access

It's got some links in it to articles about using Access with MySQL. I'm looking at something similar for a problem with one of my databases right now.

Do you have your tables directly bound to your forms?

Simply replacing linked Jet tables with linked MySQL tables will not necessarily solve your problem. If your forms and reports are all based on tables rather than queries with selection criteria, you won't see any speed improvement. Read the kb articles on optimization.
