I have a SQL Server BE with table design as pic'd:

Access can display a Decimal Type to 28 Precision (overall significant figures), to 16 Decimal Places BUT the spec of DP's have a maximum fixed value of 15 it seems

; so playing it safe I have dimensioned the design as 15 dp's; resulting in 12 figures before the decimal point. So the precision of my decimal type is 27 dp.

All 3 values have the same amount. Access only displays the correct value when clicked on (999999999999.999999999999999). Else it displays 1000000000000 (13 significant figures).

What's the crack?

My guess is you need to force the format property to something. I am not sure what. I am guessing all needed ####. But my guess without a default format specified it is limiting it to 13.

Just for clarification, is that grid that shows the 10...00 rather than 999...999.999...999 (dbo_TestDecimalType) a continuous form or a datasheet?

According to Chat, what I guessed was wrong. It should display 15 digits. So no idea, but you could still try forcing the format.

Thanks MajP, Chat was wrong & you were correct as usual MajP, Format forced it thank you very much. Hope you're well mate. (y)

Code:
0.0000000000000000

Thanks Doc it was a Datasheet.
