My form contains a listing of linked Word templates based on a table with hyperlink fields. The Word templates have automation built in, with fillin’ fields and some have merge fields based on access table data. When the user opens the linked template from the access form, it opens the template as if you were opening from the file/open menu in Word instead of opening as file/new. This causes the automation in the form to not activate. If the user opens the same template from Word via the file/new method, the form automation is activated. The purpose of opening these forms from Access instead of Word is 2-fold. 1st is that the Access form also assigns a new order number and gathers other various data. 2nd is that the users have a hard time remembering what directory, what file, etc. The access form will take the guesswork out of it and control exactly what docs they see and use. What is the best method to use to open the word templates as needed from access. Thank you in advance.
