linking fields

In a database I have to link three fields together, stock id, stock category and stock item. I want to enter in the stock id on a form and in the fields next to it i want the correct stock item and category that piece of stock falls into displayed automatically next to it.

You would store all three fields in one table, then pull all the fields into a query with any other fields you may require. Feed your form from the query pulling all the fields in. When you enter StockID, the other fields will appear. It's an idea to disable the text boxes of the category and item to prevent possible overwriting.
