Linking forms together

I am trying to find the best way to link two forms together. My database is for patients in a clinic and I have 4 different tables containing different categories of information. I have combined those into one main form to make it easier for those doing the data entry. There is one main form with the other three in tabs at the bottom. That seems to be working okay. My question is how to link in another related referral form. Some patients need the referral form and others do not. I currently have put a button on the top of the main form that will open the referral form but am not able to link them. I basically need these two forms to stay together for those patients who require a referral form. My primary key on all my forms is the patient ID number which I assign them. How can I link these forms together so that when I run queries and such I can pull information about the patient from both forms?

You can use the OpenArgs portion of the DoCmd.OpenForm command to pass the PatientID to your Referral form, and from there record it in the appropriate field of your table.
