(Access 97) Access help says you can link tables from a password protected database, but that you have "provide" the password and that it is then stored with the connnection information for that link. Using the linked table manager, I am not prompted for the password, and am unable to establish the link, receiving instead an "invalid password" error; if I first make the link then establish the password, I get the same error as soon as I try to access a linked table. Any suggestions are appreciated.

You need to re-link your tables using the Link Table Wizard, and check the check box entitled 'Save this Password' in the dialog which asks for your username and password (you need to do this with all your password-protected linked tables).
From then on, whenever you access the linked table(s) in queries, forms, VB, etc. it won't ask for the password again.

Thanks for your reply. I am not getting any "check box entitled 'Save this Password' in the dialog which asks for your username and password". Any ideas why? (I use the table link manager, OK to refresh the links, and then get error message "invalid password" and nothing is refreshed; I never get any prompt for the password.)
