LInking to User-Level security db

Hi,

I am trying to link to a MS Access db from another Access db. The db i am trying to link to has User-level security. I have Admin rights within this database.

When I try to link to it (This is using the Link tables method) I get a message that I do not have persmission. It does not give me an opportunity to putin a user name or password.

Is there a way I can overcome this ether direct by linking tables or through code perhaps. I guess ther must be a way but whereever I search I come to a deadend.

you need to set both dbs to use the same system database .(check out Tools >> Security >> Work Group Administrator)
if by any chance it turns out both were secured not just the one you are trying to link to , you have to asign ownership (Tools >> Security >> User and Group Permissions)of objects you want to link to judging that you have Administrator access to which to a common user name on both system databases
