When I copy worksheets from excel file 1 to excel file 2, I create a link between the two files. If I open Excel File 2 after I save and close it, I will get a message telling me the automatic update of links has been disabled. I decide the click on ENABLE; therefore, my link to excel file 1 is established and it will update excel file 2.
My question is this, when this update appears to happen, will it update excel file 1 with my userid as LAST MODIFIED BY and LAST MODIFIED as the date this update happened.
The reason I ask is that I have a workbook (excel file 1) that shows I updated it on a specific date and time; however, I did not.
Also, somehow, excel file 1 had a value updated incorrectly and it showed up on excel file 2. It is giving the appearance that I did not check file 1 correctely (I did) and just linked the bad data to Excel file 2. When I originally created file 1 and linked to file 2 the data was correct; however, I cannot prove it.
