I am only a user of ACCESS, i.e. have no programming background. I use wizards to create databases.

To create a list box on a simple form field say, SEX, I tried to use the list box wizard in the toolbox. It asked to give it a name. So the name appears on top of the field sex, i do not want that. Also, I see "unbound" hanging around there, etc.

Someone, please help me how to create a drop down with Male and Female on the SEX field.
Thank you in advance.

You are probably saving the sex answer in a table? If not, you need to have a field called sex in your table.

The form needs to be based off of that table.
After you do that:

1. Using the toolbox in forms design, click on the drop down tool and place the dropdown box on your form.
2. The wizard starts
3. Chose "I want to type in the values that I want"
4. Next
5. Type in "Male" hit TAB
Type in "Female" --pls type w/o quotes-
6. Chose "Store that value in this field" then pick sex in the drop down box on that line.
7. finish

Hope that helps

Or, you can turn off the wizard and add a combo box or list box control to your form.

Reveal the Properties form for the control (double click on it); select the "All" tab.

Set the RowSourceType to "Value List"
Set the RowSource to "Female;Male"

If you want the selection to be stored in a field of one of the form's underlying table, then set the ControlSource to the name of the field.

Often the control wizard are more trouble than their worth. Post back for additional help.
