Hi All,

Can someone please help me create a log in form. The other thing I need help in is, when I start my Access database I want the first form(menu) to run automatically.

I have a sample login form here. Also, to set your startup form, you can do that by doing this (depending on your version):

2000 to 2003

2007

2010

The Other question im having, if you can please help, is about the Autonumbers. What I want is to use, for example E1,E2,E3 instead of 1,2,3... I want this to be automated. Autonumbers data type only gives numbers.

Autonumbers should not be used for something that has meaning. They ONLY guarantee a UNIQUE number, not a number that runs incrementally. They sometimes change over to random, or skip huge chunks, with no particular reason.

If the numbering is important to you and needs to be used/seen by users, use a DMax+1 system (do a search here for that). If you don't care what the autonumbers are or if they have gaps, etc. then you can use them. But seeing as you are wanting the E before them, it means you want them to have meaning when they should only really be used as a surrogate key and the system manages them and nobody sees them, nor cares what they are.
