To solve an issue with truncation of a memo field on a report I changed the text format to Rich text and the control source to be "= [firstof....]. This allows me to display more than 250 characters, but moves my punctuation on the last line of text on my report.

For example, I have several sentences in my memo field that take up 4 lines on my report and on the very last sentence it moves the period to the beginning of the 4th line of text.

I think this has something to do with the version of access. I am using access 2013, but the database was built using 2010.

Thanks

what you probably need to do is set the "can grow" of the control on the report to "YES" or "TRUE"

otherwise you won't be able to fit multiple lines into it. When cangrow is true the control expands on the printed report to show all the available data.

The "can grow" is already set to Yes.

HSu,

Is the memo field getting truncation at the record source level? If yes, are you using DISTINCT or DISTINCT ROW? Either one will cause memo field to get truncated to 255 characters.
