i need help with a few lookup tables in a bookings table.

I am doing a music instruemnt rental for my A level project.

I have five seperate tables to store inforamtion about the following:

guitars, basses, amplifiers, effects and other equipment.

in the bookings table i have several lookup tables:
instrument cagagory
instrument type
instrument make
instrument model
instrument ID - NOT A LOOKUP.

in my bookings table i have a field called instrument catagory which is a look up table. the values in that table are gutiar, bass, amp, effects and other.

What i want is when one of those values are selected (say guitar) the values in the other lookup tables only come from the guitar table but when i select the catagory to bass the values for the other look up tables come from the bass table.

Hope this made sence, sorry if it didnt but im not sure how to explain it.

thank you in advanced..... i would ask my IT teacher but he knows jack all about IT.

This is a standard technique called Cascading or Synchronized comboboxes. A search here on either of those phrases will bring up instructions on how to do it. By the way, this is a forms issue not a tables issue. If you are using lookup fields on a table level, that's a mistake. they should only be done on the Forms level.
