Hi,

Have searched forever to try and find the answer to this but havent found it. Have a mail merge document which picks up various fields from an access database but want to put in a blank placeholder such that text can be typed in - in my case the diagnosis of a patient as this is not stored in the database

I am sure this must be possible? Any thoughts?

Thanks

Would it not be best to store a dianosis within the database and then have this field pulled into your merge?

Other than that, I would expect you to have to type out the diagnosis into each letter as it can not be pulled in from anywhere else?

Not a Word expert but just my thoughts.

I agree with YNWA. Word gives you the option to create your own merge or to connect to a database. It would make more sense that the diagnosis is stored on a database for future use.

Hi,

Thanks both for the suggestion - have added it in to the database
