I do occasional targeted & personalised mailings from our DB using SQL & Word Mail Merge. Recently I ran one based on an UNMATCHED query, which I realise now I hadn't have done before.
Word ignored the unmatched part of the query/SQL & printed around double the number of letters!
Because this is fairly routine I wasn't paying attention, just set it off, & wasted rather a lot of pre-printed stationery.
There was nothing the matter with the query. Labels printed from it directly produced the correct number. The emailing version which is exported to our Bulk Emailing S/W via Excel was also correct.
Another time, I'll make a table first & run Mail Merge from this.
