Make Query give me current date

I have a field called shiftstart with the date and time. I put date() in criteria for this field thinking it would give me todays date information. I get nothing.

What am I doing wrong please.

If you have a field with Date AND Time, DATE() will not work for your criteria because the actual criteria passed would be

8/24/2009 12:00:00 AM

and that would not match your info.

So, you would need

Between Date() and Date()+1

That makes sense.

That was the key I needed.

If I only wanted part of the day say 1a to 4pm How would that look.

Between Date() and time between 1:00:00 am and 4:00:00 pm
