Display New record on opening form.

I have been able to successfully solve the problem of my pages showing relevant records by using form control.
How should I make my form display a new record everytime I open it? So, that when a lame user opens it , he wouldnt change the existing data on an existing record. How to solve this problem?
Kindly help. thanks

I am not an expert.
That said, you might have a look at using the Tab Control for your form. This way, you can group "page" fields onto appropriate Tab Control pages. Try it out and see if that's what you're looking for.
At least it will limit your process to one form.

Hey Uncle,
I had to go and look at the wizard to confirm that function is there (Open form to specific record). I am now running A2K3, and sure enough, it's there. I feel certain it wasn't there when I began working with Access (A97). I was such a noob that I might not have noticed.

I dont have this option in my wizard A2K3

I don't have this option " open form to this record" in my wizard. Is there a way I can use it manually? Thanks. I have A2K3 .

Yeah, you can use the wizard to make an OpenReport button to specific record. Then, change the strDocName to the form name and the DoCmd.OpenReport... to DoCmd.OpenForm...

Report OPerations -no action for "open to record"

The Reprt operations category has only "Mail report, Peview report, Print report , send report to file" actions. It has now "open to record action". What should I do?

Also, Is it possible , when I open my access form, to display a new record instead of the first record.(So that a lame user can start entering data avoiding of the possibility of changing the already existing data). Please help. Thanks.

Success on TAB CONTROL

Sergeant, thank for your help. I didnt even know about the functionality of tab control or where it existed. i found it and its solved the problem of showing the same record.
I have another problem. Is it possible to show a new record on opening the application? Please help. As of now, it always shows the first record.
