Hey there, well my problems quiet simple but i dunno how to solve it, ive got a list of fields in my querie which show orders we sent off to supplies now i have done a calculation to work out any outstanding purchase orders which was simply ordered quantity - recieved quantity. This querie runs ok however i then only want to show only order which are out standing so i enter in the outstanding field criteria >"0" this take ages to run and im not sure why becuase there is only 623 records in it. please help me speed up this process some how
thanks
rob

Are all fields in your query necessary? If not, remove those fields which you won't use.

Is the query based on another query? If so, conside moving all calculations to the topmost level.

Other stuff can be found in the following articles:

Access 2.0, Access 95, and Access 97: Article Q112112.

Access 2000: Article Q209126.

Take the calculations out of the query, do them at form/report level
