Making records APPEAR to duplicate on purpose

Hi folks,

Simple thing - can't work out how to get started.

Course schedule database w/ 3 fields - start date, duration and title.

I want to be able to print a report for a date range (week), where a course will appear under a date EVEN if it is not it's start date.

e.g.
Info in table:
05-Nov-03, 3, Word 2000
06-Nov-03, 1, Outlook 2000

Report:
05-Nov-03 Word 2000
06-Nov-03 Word 2000
06-Nov-03 Outlook 2000
07-Nov-03 Word 2000

Any ideas how I can start this off? Thanks,

If you had an end date field you could use a date range, not sure about duration.

Actually, I could add an end date if needed. I'm taking an old database and creating a newer, better version.

If I did, then what?

I can't say I am very good at this stuff at all so take what I say with a grain of salt, but I believe you coud set a criteria for your report that would only list it if the dates fall within the date range. Listing it more than once should be no problem you should just be able select your source in as many different places as you want. But like I said get that checked out before you go spending time on it.

what about creating another table ("tbl_AllDates") with all Dates (Jan 1st 2003 till Dec 30 2010) and querying ur table and tbl_AllDates but using no join ?!?

This will create a list of all dates of 2003 to 2010 c o m b i n e d with every of ur dates. The u have 'only' to set a criteria which displays just the records where the date of "tbl_AllDates" is between ur start & end-date. (The end date can be calculated in a query from ur start date and the duration)

This would create the desired 'extra' records...
