Does anyone out there know why the following is happening and if there is any solution to fix it? Over the last 6 months or so various reports on different Access 97 databases have been giving a similar error and nothing we do seems to fix it. What we usually end up doing is restoring a version of the database from a few months back but this only seems to resolve the issue for a while and then it returns. Needless to say it's getting to be a pain at this stage so once again I'm back to trying to find a real solution. Searches on the net and on microsoft haven't helped so hopefully someone here can shed some light. The error text is attached.

I don't know the history, but here are a few suggestions based on my experience.
Try reinstalling Access, especially if you can get into the database and run the report fine from another machine.
Check virtual memory, mine is set to about 100Mb each for C and D (local drives).
I'm going to assume that you have already tried Compact and Repair.
