Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone can help with a query issue I have.

I’ve got two parts stores 1 & 2, each store issues parts by part number each day, I’m able to get the totals of each part issued by each store per day, but what I’m wanting to find are the totals of the parts issued by both stores 1 & 2 for each day and present this in a query.

Can anyone give me some guidance as to how I merge these figures?

Cheers

You may create a Union-Query to merge data from both stores together in Query and take totals.

If you are not familiar with Union Queries then you may visit the following link to know more about it: Union Query

That doesn't seem to be helping I'm looking for the totals from both stores combined per day, here's an example of day 1 issue schedule.

Before merging the data

Store 1 Store 2
Part 8: 10 issued 5 issued
Part 11: 0 issued 7 issued
Part 15: 4 issued 2 issued
Part 21: 3 issued 0 issued

After merging and summing the totals:

Part 8: 15 issued
Part 11: 7 issued
Part 15: 6 issued
Part 21: 3 issued

I'm not necessarilly looking to merge the data, I'm just looking for the Parts totals issued each day for store 1 & 2 combined.

I'm guessing access is unable to total these figures, I've tried the union method and it works fine until I run into a duplicate quantity for a given part accross both stores and then the quantities total up incorrectly.

Is it possible to get around the duplicate omission problem on union queries?

Does anyone have any suggestions?
