Is there a way of updating the calender in outlook from the dates in Project. Macro/keystroke etc.

You can do it but you need to be setup correctly for it (see links below) - To do it 'natively' so to speek might be difficult - I know you can export from Project into Excel and csv files, maybe you could import these into Outlook, I'd try it for you but I haven't got Project I'm afraid.
