I have an Access report which I need to export to Word, to further edit and then for our graphics person to use the text for a brochure. When I export it into Rich Text Format, and then open into Word, occasionally the text is cut off, even though in the Access version all the text is there.

The particular field of concern is Memo data type. What is strange is that some of the ones that are cut off are actually shorter than some that export correctly. In addition, there is another field occasionally cut off, which compiles three different text fields.

Any help appreciated!

Hello ClaudiainDC,

I've never dared offer help to anyone before but I stumbled on your question whilst looking for an answer to mine and thought I've been down that same road. I tried the RTF route and couldn't get it to work. All I did in the end was to set up a menu link using the View/Toolbars/Customise route and put the Word button on the Access menu bar. Run the report and hit the link button and Word maintains the layout and format completely.
I suspect you have long since solved your problem but just in case it helps.....

Bomac.

Thanks for your reply Bomac!

Unfortunately, that didn't solve the problem (although it is a neat shortcut I didn't know about) - so if anyone else has a solution, I'd still love to hear it.

afraid not - as far as i am aware rtf is pretty limited in its scope .
now there are alternatives -
its a bit tiem consuming setting up - but the supereasy word d/b (check the sames or type super easy word into google and it will appear) might sove your problem
you will have to recreate the report in word to begin with then you can "merge" from Access in to word template and then edit the merged doc (i.e full word function)-

pretty slcik piece of software - look it up and test it -

hope this helps regards
