Ok guys struggling here.

I can now open a form from a record woo hoo. but the problem is it only opens one form.

What I have I 4 different forms

form 1
From 2
Form 3
Form 4

Each form has a hidden field with its name in so that when the database is populated It knows what form the record was filled in on. this is so when I want to view a record it does not show on the wrong form.

what I need to be able to do is search for the record and on clicking it it will open in the correct form it was filled in with and not any of the others.

I am new to this so please be gentle, I am searching using a split form and a combo box.

My method would work with the combo if the form name was in it.

Perhaps if you can attach the db here we can figure it out. I know that method works, and you seem to be saying that the form name is part of the record.

The database is 16mb so a bit big but yes I have a field that is filled in automatically when the form is filled in to show what form was used. could you post an idiots guide please as I am really struggling.
