I hope I can explain this problem in such a way that someone can give me advice:
I am developing an insurance claims administration app (for an insurance brokerage).
I have main form, frmClaimsEntry, which is a tab control. On the first tab, the user selects the client fromm a combo box , which requeries another combo box to show the policies the selected client has. The user then selects the correct policy, which requeries a subform (frmUnderwriters) on the second tab to show the insurance company (or in many cases, more than one company) that underwrites the selected policy.
Then, the user needs to select the insurance company claims person via a subform (frmUwrContacts) who will be handling that particular claim...this is where my problem is...
On subform frmUwrContacts, I have a combo box that lists contacts associated with the insurance company shown on subform frmUnderwriters. This works great - BUT it only works if there is one insurance company. Here is an example of what happens:
Subform frmUnderwriters (datasheet view) shows these companies underwriting the selected policy:
ABC Insurance
XYZ Insurance
Subform frmUwrContacts shows Jane Doe as a contact for ABC, which the user selects.
Then the user selects Jane Smith as the contact for XZY Insurance. When Jane Smith is selected, it changes the contact info for both ABC and XYZ. If I go back and change ABC to Jane Doe, it changes XYZ to Jane Doe.
Can someone give me some guidance on why this is happening and what I can do to stop it? Thanks so much for taking the time to read this and consider my options.
