My report (rptBilling_STS_Summary) has three subreports (rptBilling_STS_Summary_Install, rptBilling_STS_Summary_Rental, rptBilling_STS_Summary_LDRate) that return values that are grouped by customer and calculates a total for each customer.

I need the report to export to excel for our client but every attempt has produced a blank XLS file. I have tried every export method I can think of. This is what I have tried:

Export button from external data ribbon
Export from print preview
Export via macro
Export via VBA (DoCmd.OutputTo acOutputReport, "rptBilling_STS_Summary", acFormatXLS, , False, , , acExportQualityPrint)

All this has produced the same blank excel file... Very frustrating... :banghead::banghead:

I have searched and found a lot of information on 2007 and it requiring sp2 but all I can find on 2010 is instructional information.

Any help will be greatly appreciated..

Update: I copied the database to my local PC and when I export the XLS file it opens in protected view. Not sure if this is the cause but a new lead to follow. Any one experience issues with this before?

Just for fun, what happens if you change the line to...

Code:
DoCmd.OutputTo acOutputReport, "rptBilling_STS_Summary", acFormatXLS, , False

Also, are you saying the file works on your local but not across the network?

Thanks for the quick response GinaWhipp,
Unfortunately, the fun ended quickly. I got the same results.

I get blank excel sheets weather it is on the network or local drives. BTW, I also created a trusted location (locally) and and exported to the folder and although the files is no longer in protected view, it is still blank.

The RecordSource of the report, it's not a parameter query is it?

Yes, 2 of the sub reports use parameter queries...

Do you think the parameter query cannot prompt? Could it be that even from print preview it is expecting to retrieve parameters?

If the queries are expecting answer from a Form then yes, that might be the problem. Are you printing via a button on a Form?
