I created an app that used the 10.0 library and a field office that recieved the app is using the 9 library. They are having difficuties getting buttons on forms to work. They are getting a 2580 error something about the SELECT statement. Could the library be the problem and if so is there someway I can save mine using the 9 so it will be compatible?
Thanks.

Do they get a broken reference error when they open the db? What is the exact error?

All they should have to do is to Open the VBA window, go to TOOLS > REFERENCES and uncheck the version 10 reference. After closing the dialog and restarting the database it should choose the appropriate version 9 reference automatically.

They can get to the form (main menu) and some of the buttons work to open other forms and some buttons when clicked return a 2580 error. I'm sorry I don't have the text for the error only that it reference a SELECT statement using a reserved word...
The app works fine in my office for the few employees who use it but we all have the same references.

They have the 9 version and I have the 10. We have tried sending them the MSACC.OLB and they are saving it in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10 folder but it doesn't appear in the list after we have browsed to find it. Should we uncheck the 9? Is that causing a problem?

I thought I would try to use the 9 here based on Bob's answer but when I try and uncheck 10 I get a "Can't remove a control or reference in use" message.

No, THEY need to uncheck the version 10 that shows up when they try to use it. YOU don't need to do anything. You can't send them an OLB file for a version above what they are using. However, YOU can get MSACC9.OLB from them and uncheck version 10 on YOURS and reference MSACC9.OLB in YOURS instead so that they don't need to do the unchecking. That is something you CAN do. I do it all of the time with Excel as I have later versions of Excel but I use the EXCEL9.OLB to be able to develop with the same references.

They never see the version 10 to uncheck. I'm sorry if I'm not understanding this. Thanks for your help.

Have them take a screenshot of the references screen when they open it up. Post it here with a screenshot of your references screen so we can see the differences.

Click the GO ADVANCED button on the bottom of the quick reply window on the screen. Then, near the bottom of the page you should find the MANAGE ATTACHMENTS button. You can upload any attachments there.

For the easiset way it would be to hit ALT+PrtScn and then paste into Word and then zip the Word document with WinZip or something and then use the manage attachments button to upload.

I can't get a response from the field today but I have attached my screen shot and when I had them read theirs to me yesterday it was the same except the Ms Access 10.0 Object Library was Ms Access 9.0 Object Library.

Finally figured this out and thought I would post in case anyone else runs across this problem. The fix was in shortening the SELECT statements. Access had set the query selects by using each tablename.fieldname. When I shortened the SELECT to SELECT * from table it worked just fine for object 9 staff.
