Hi all,

I have had a general problem with connecting to an MS Access Database Table through MS Excel (both in version 2007).

The connection is established. I am able to access the database data in MS Excel pivot tables.

I discovered a persistent problem where the records retrieved from MS Access suddenly stopped some time last year, around November 2011. When I opened MS Access all the data in the table was available. I also checked the data connection file via MS Excel and noticed an acd file is placed in the /user/mydocuments folder (wrong folder) but the connection string points to the right folder. Also, the acd files last modification date were around Nov 2011.

I've attempted to create a couple of new connections but they all seem to come up with the same results, data sets which are capped around Nov 2011.

Can someone see what is going wrong?

Umm, that would be November 2010.

ACD file??? Do you mean ACCDB File? If the ACCDB file is in the wrong location and the excel file is pointing to it, and the data stops at November 2010, you likely have it linked to the wrong Access database and there is another one in use somewhere which has the later data and the Excel file needs to be relinked to IT instead.
