I've been using an Access2000 database I've developed for about 18mths now. Last week I was using it on one of my network PCs, the data is stored on my Main PC, when my network PC crashed. Since then every time I try to open my database, even from my Main PC, I'm getting the error messge... Records cannot be read. No read permission on MSysAccessObjects".

I get this same message when I try to 'Compact & Repair' it also. I've found soomeone who had this exact problem on the forum but no one posted a reply.

I've got a backup copy from the night before but it was a really busy day and I'd love to save myself a days inputting.

Any ideas please?

Open a new database and copy all objects from the corrupted one. You have to set startup settings again.

Thanx 4 the idea but I can't open my database to copy any objects into aa new one!

You don't have to open it. Just import the tables, queries, etc. into a new DB. (Make a new DB, and go to File -> Get External Data -> Import, then import everything from your corrupted DB.)

If you're saying you cannot open your DB because something automatically runs that's accessing MSysObjects, did you disable the SHIFT-Open? If not, hold down the shift key when opening the DB to stop the automatically executing code.

Check for a leftover .LDB file.

If one exists when nobody has the database open, delete it.

Or check the ldb file using the ldbviewer. See who's in it

How did you solve the problem?, I've got the same problem and my backup copy is one month old.

Please, help me. You can contact me at kktua@hotmail.com.

Thanks in advance.
