Hi

I have been using Access off and on for many years and suddenly
when loading a code module I get every single code module load on the screen as well including forms and reports.

Does anybody know how I can turn this off and why anybody would want this to occur anyway?

Thanks

It might be a matter of

1. Closing all the modules
2. DEBUG > Compile
3. Then SAVE
4. Compact & Repair.

I think Access remembers the modules that were previously opened so you need to remove it from cache.

I've tried that and it did not work.

I do not even know what to google to try and find a solution.

It's not the end of the world, just a bit annoying.

Strange behaviour. Did you say ALL of the modules open up? How many of these modules have you got running?

I just had 42 code modules to unload.

This included Forms as well.

Strange indeed.

Your db may be corrupt. Try creating a new db shell and import all your objects from your db into the new one.

See if that helps.

You don't have any auto exec macro that could be trying to open things do you?

That worked so it's obvious that there was some kind of corruption / malfunction there.

Access still loads other previously loaded modules along with the one you want but not all of them every time. It seems to drop the history after a while. I wonder what the logic is here.

I tend to forget about creating a new database when it seems to sort many problems out. I probably refrain from doing that because I always want to know WHY something happens. But I am an analyst and my mum said that when I was a young lad I always asked WHY.

Thanks

Hi Smeghead

Do you live here?

If so do you have to pay Council Tax?

No Auto Exec Macro but just created a new MDB and problem sorted.

Thanks

Nope, I'm not in England.

Hi
The VBA editor is a separate application. When you open the editor, all modules are open and overlapped. This is normal behavior.
