Hello all,

I'm doing a travel database of sorts, which logs requests for flights, taxis etc - the report/query I'm currently putting together logs all travel requests within a date range - the only problem is that there's often more than one travel request per day, meaning that there's more than one entry for each day.

The request/booked fields are tick boxes - would there be anyway to have them added up, meaning that only the date is only shown once, and then the total for the day? The wizard sum option doesn't seem to work...

Any help is appreciated - thanks!

Why have you designed your database in this way - this indicates that your database doesn't meet the criteria for First Normal Form (1NF), the first step in database design and normalisation.

You need a many-to-many relationship for this to work properly.

I actually didn't - I'm just trying to make someone elses more accessible - which is why I've struggled in various places, as I've been trying to figure out what they were trying to do.

It doesn't matter if it can't be done, I'm just trying to tidy things up the best I can

It can be done. You'll just need to write a function that takes all the fields in as arguments and then totals them.

Since I've currently only got a day left at this place, and have to fit work on the database in around my other menial tasks, I think I shall just pass and allow duplicate entries on the same day.

Thanks for the help though!
