Multiple users

jimbrooking,

Do you have a sample database that illustrates multiple users with a login form. I just don't understand how to keep track of each user logged in. I am trying to give various levels of access. Some users have complete access, while others have limited access. I want to hide sensitive information on forms to some users. How do you control that? I'm not afraid of vba, but I need to understand.

DebSabre,

I can't send you the database(s) on which I implemented multiple-user logins, because the non-profit I did them for sells them. The user guide for one of them is at

http://www.nchica.org/HIPAAResources/EV/HEVs2UserGuide.pdf

I'm not sure I can easily extract just the login piece of it, but I'd be happy to try and walk you through the techniques I used, if that would help.

I don't pretend that the method I used is iron-clad bulletproof, esp. if you have Access developers among your user base. It's based on "hidden" Access tables that can be easily "unhidden" by moderately knowledgable users.

If you'd like to pursue this off line please send an email and we can continue what may be a lengthy interchange outside the forum.

Off topic: How's the snow situation there? I lived in Syracuse for 5 years, and got my MS at SU long ago. Don't miss the weather a bit!
