#name? error on page nubmer expression

I have a simple page number expression and am getting the #name? error. I can't figure out why. This is a very common expression and should work. I have made sure that the control name is not duplicated. I tried to search for the answer but didn't have any luck. Any thoughts?

Any new thoughts on this. Still having the problem. It is in the report footer, and even if I have Access automatically insert it, it will display the error instead of the page numbers.

I appriciate any and all insight.
