Navigation Pane Blues

Out of the blue, I have had 2 problems with the Navigation Pane:

(1) When I create new reports, they instantly become "Hidden Items" and they won't show (either as hidden or not) in the Navigation Pane list (even though the "show hidden items" option is checked) until I close out of Access and then go back in.

(2) If I want to either change the name or delete a query or report, when I right click on it, the name highlights quickly in orange and then the cursor just jumps off and I can't make the change or deletion (either that or it will open whatever I had highlighted).

Right-Click on the Navigation Pane header. Select Navigation Option from the displayed list. Select Double-Click (if it is not selected) under the option-group 'Open Object with'.
