I was actually looking heavily at the KRZR but noticed that it is neither 3G nor HSDPA compatible :( . In my case, my wife wants to send pics and media in messages, I want to surf the web, and I wanted the extra speed that the KRAZR couldn't offer. The LG CU500 was the first HSDPA compatible phone offered (Cingular/ATT only) and has a very RAZR-like form, but the RAZR Vxx was just released and it implements HSDPA. Depends upon what you're after, but I was disappointed that the KRZR didn't implement the new features. I work with a guy that just got a KRAZR and his wife got a RAZR, the RAZR's signal reception is much higher than the KRAZR as well.

Looks like my wife and I are going with the RAZR Vxx. (Unless Moto decides to upgrade the KRAZR;) )

How about the LG VX8600
Anyone have something like that? I dont neccesarily need a music player in it. just want a camera

All manufacturers configure their phones to meet provider needs...I'm a Cingular/ATT subscriber and the word was that their bastardization and lockdown of everything useful in the KRZR also contributed to a lack of performance and customization. (This CNET review) goes into lots more detail on the Sprint mods, there's also a link to the Verizon version.

I hear the Sony Ericsson W850i is the one to have - any thoughts?

I can't admit to knowing a great deal about mobile phones. I'd like one that takes decent pics and videos though. I haven't been too impressed with the photo quality of the one I currently have.

I'll need to have a look around I think. A reliable phone is always good for starters. My colleague had the razor as well and had the same issues with the battery losing it's charge.

Thanks for the tip though, I'll check it out.

NOKIA 6165i

I'm having decent results with the Nokia 6165i. It seems to have good battery time, I think it's dropped one call in the 4 months I've had it (on Cricket Wireless), and the pics (while not real fantastic) are decent (sample I took is here: sample pic).

nice lamp.boB

Ive had many friends say that they have problems with the battery. apparently they lose charge capactiy, you just have to go get a new one.

as for the ericcsons i have no idea about them... i think ill have to read up on it

I personally like Sony Ericsson phones. But, as far as I know, only Cingular/AT&T carry Sony phones. I guess I could fork out the money for an unlocked phone if I really wanted one and could afford it.

I really want one that takes good pictures and can play music.

cnet.com has a lot of cell phone reviews.
