first ill explain my query to avoid misunderstanding. i set a query to get weekly results for this report im working on. the query does this by
Between Date() And Date()-7
now i need to know how to get the date range to show in my report. i have a box that has start date and end date but i dont know how to get those dates in my report under those headings. got any advice? another thing to take in to consideration is the fact that not every day of the week has an entry, so i need to get my dates from the range of the query. say the first entry is on tuesday then my start date needs the date of the first record of the week being tuesday....

not sure if thats clear on what im doing but i hope to get some help here...
thanks in advance..

Pass the criteria dates to the report in the OpenArgs argument of the OpenReport command.

gonna have to speak english. i dont understand access too much yet. thats kinda the point of this project is that i can learn better by doing. if you could tell me how to do what you are talking about i would appreciate it very much.

Please refer to "Usage Report" in this forum.

ok that doesnt help too much.... i been working on this report for 3 days now and pretty much all of today(long hours). i have no idea if im explainin myself correctly but im doin my best. im gonna try this again.

this is for an above ground fuel tank that i need to track or log, usage (fuel used from tank), additions(fuel added to tank), and daily dipstick level readings. im tryin to make my job easier with this and have some non-paper history on this. basicly its a bunch of calculations from little info. so now im tryin to get a report made that uses data from 3 tables. also tryin to make it look like the form i fill out so nobody knows its different. im getting closer now because i found out how to use subreports in a report to bring the 3 tables data together in one report. i have......

table 1.
fuel added (date) (gauge before) (gauge after)

table 2.
fuel used (date) (equipment #) (gallons it took)

table 3.
daily readings (date) (gauge) (meter)

next i made 3 querys, one for each table that brings weekly results of my data so that i can get this report made. i even made one query that used the first 3 querys to bring them all together but that didnt work so its gone after i figured out subreports. :)

now about this report..... this is where it gets hard. the report needs calculations and data from 3 tables. oh and the calculation i need i dont understand the formula either..... you can check out the formula here. the report has blocks for....

week start/stop
1 weeks worth of dipstick readings
1 weeks worth of receipts of fuel
1 weeks worth of fuel to equipment
summary calculations

but anyway im just doin this to learn, so any help on any of these things would be great. thanks for reading my bs..... :D

Start by going to Tools>Database Utilities>Compact and Repair Database... You will find your mdb shrinks dramatically. You do not seem to have a main form yet from which you will run the other forms. Once you do then you can use the Command button wizard to create a button that runs your reports. You will than see the OpenReport command in use.
