Need help in programming in ms access 2007

I am setting up a system for a friend of mine. I have 2 date fields that have to be selected from and to dates.

Below that i have a drop down list that needs to check to see if in of the items in the list are already being used between those dates.

I can upload the access file if that would help you but i am trying to find a way to get this done for her.

How are you populating the drop-down list? ... (The correct term for a drop down list is combo box)
