:)
I have a database with one main table ( Staff ) and 4 other tables related to this one table. I use a one-to-many relationship for all relationships.
My problem is when I select a staff member on the main form and want to view the Mail that that staff have sent or received, the information is not coming up.
Do I create a query from the Mail table first? Then create a form using the query as the source? If so what criteria do I use?
Sorry if this is confusing ;)

Please reply to me as if you are talking to a 5 year old. ( Newbie...sorry )

Hello Charlie!

As I can understand you, you have got a MAIN FORM and 4 SUBFORMS.
It's not enough to put a relationship. You must fill up "LINK CHILD FIELDS"
and "LINK MASTER FIELDS" properties for 4 subforms.

Look Charlie!

Open Main form in DESIGN VIEW, Click on Subform, click on properties,
find LINK CHILD FIELDS and LINK MASTER FIELDS.

Thanks man

I will try that and will get back to ya if I have any more problems
let me put it another way,
I have 5 tables and 5 forms.
One main table is the Main form and the other 4 forms are connected to the remaning 4 tables.

I have related them together as a one to many relationship.
Do I still need to link the child and master fields?
thanks for your feedback

You have to fill up LINK CHILD FIELDS and LINK MASTER FIELDS
only if this 4 forms are SUBFORMS (in main form).

Thanks for that

These are not subforms.
They are all separate forms with the one-to-many relationships.
Thanks for your help though, I might even try and use them as subforms.

Hello Charlie

If your forma are not SUBFORMS, and you want to relate
them with the Main form, look at "DemoDetails2A97.mdb".
Open frmMain.
