Need help with critera not equal to 20,30,or 40

Hey so im trying to make a query on a field value that is not 20,30 or 40.
Ive already made a query in which i had field values that ARE 20,30,or 40.
When i try to combine not for 20,30,and 40 it only lets me do 1.....
Such as I can only do <>20.....
if i try <>20,30,40 it wont work or even if i do <>20 <>30 <>40 it only gives me the not 20 values but still gives me 30 and 40..
If anyone can help please let me know!
