Need help with date field

When typing a date in the date field is there a way to keep from having to type in the / between month/day/year and have access automatically convert it to that format?

That would simplify things a lot.

yes select the text field go to the properties>>data>>Input mask>> then select what type of date format you would like to use. When the user clicks in the field the input mask will be there and they can just type in the info with out having to enter the "/" etc...
