Functions don't go into tables, if you need to apply logic to data, you do it in a query. You will need the Iif function: http://www.techonthenet.com/access/functions/advanced/iif.php

I think Plog is right in this instance. If you google 'Access Immediate If' and remember to use # around your time or date. IIF(#01/01/2014# > #01/01/2013#, yes, no). However, this isn't something you would normally store in a table. Use a query to display what you want...
