Need to create crosstab query containing calculations and filters and don't know how (1 Viewer)

I am trying to create a query where I am firstly selecting only the records that have activity. I have a lookup list of all the departments in our company and the user selects from this. Then I want to do a report that will show the activity, but only want to select those departments/sub departments that have activity.

Then I want to do some calcuations so that I can get a crosstab report and hopefully also a graph.

And then I would like to offer the option of date parameters to the user and also a total for the whole department!

Any ideas on how to do this? I keep trying, but just can't work it out. :eek:
