Dear Folks,

I am new to this Access World Forums system, and rather familiar with the basics of Access 2003, while learning Access 2007.

I have new position at a school. The position involves tracking the attendance by faculty members, arranging for substitute teachers to take classes for absent faculty, and reporting the results. There has been some paperwork involved, and I want to write an Access database to do some of the record-keeping.

As either email replies or posts to this thread, I would appreciate help finding folks to network with, finding templates in Access 2003 or Access 2007, or seeing example databases for this sort of work. Because I have a good friend locally who helps me, I want to design a database that can easily be saved as an Access 2003 file as well.

Thanks for any suggestions.

welcome to the forum Mr. Kane. Using access to accomplish your purpose is definitely your solution.

However I have questions:

1. Does your school have I.T. department to make this project?
2. What version of access do you intend to use?

Thanks for your message. Yes, we have an I.T. department, but the department is concerned with computer networking, and does not generally deal with issues concerning the use of Microsoft Access.

I am working in my new version of Access 2007, however, for the benefit of consultant friends of mine who are limited to Access 2003, I want to be able to save the database in the Access 2003 file format, at least for the time being.

Looking forward to your further ideas.
:)

Thanks,

Ken
