I am developing an employee database for my company. I have used databases in the past to store data but am new to using forms and have run into a problem.

I have uploaded the sample files below.

The problem is as follows:

The form employee details holds all the information about the emplyee which is not an issue but i have added a tabbed section to the lower part of this to pull information from other tables about absence / infractions / holidays etc. I have removed all of these bar one for uploading.

What I am looking to do is have a seperate form to enter some details the example I have left is infractions. I have set up a relation ship between the ID's on all the tables but when I fill out the new infraction form it does enter the data into the table but does not link it with the employee I am viewing.

If i enter the data by clicking the plus next to the employees record they link up fine though.

Any help is much apreciated.

When posting questions about Access 2007 please make a point of letting us know that fact. Only a relatively small number of people in the Access community currently run this version and it can make a great deal of difference in how questions are answered.

It is particularly important to do this when you attach a database. It's useless for those of us who don't run 2007 to take the time to download the file.

Thanks for taking the time to look at it. I understand that its what MS Access is good at but i prefer the feel of it opening a new form.

Is it possible to do? If so could you point me in the right direction?

Uncle Gizmo has already pointed you in the "right" direction! You'd do well to heed his advice.

Yes I have and I apreciate the help given very much but I am still having issues with the layout I am going for and could use a little more help.
