I'm using MS Access 2007. I have setup a dB with a group of suspense actions that we are tracking. In design view of the dB I have setup five hyperlink fields for each record so the action officer can add PDFs, MS Word docs, etc to each record.
On my FE data entry form I have inserted the five hyperlink fields. When using the FE data entry form on my computer I can right click the hyperlink field and it allows me the option to "edit hyperlink" in which I can go find the file I want to hyperlink to. It works great as long as I'm using it from my computer with the BE on my computer as well. However, when I move the BE dB to a shared server and try to access it via my FE with the same entry form from my compuer it will not let me "edit hyperlink" when I right click the field. It only allows me to type in the hyperlink address that can be somewhat long. Does anyone know why I can't "edit hperlink" on these fields as discussed above so I can search my folders for the right file to add ? FYI I have properly linked the FE to the BE and can edit the data entry form in the other fields.
Also is there a way you hyperlink to a MS Outlook Email ? I can hyperlink to a MS Word, MS powerpoint, >PDF file locaiton but cannot find how to link to an Outlook email. Thanks for your help ! Art
