The suppression of groups/persons by an authoritarian company/government is the thin edge of a wedge, penetrating our freedom. See this insightful YouTube by Dave Lee....
In the last two years, Twitter has dealt with an activist investor, an egocentric figure with tens of millions of followers pushing the limits on its platform and an eccentric billionaire leader attempting to improve the product while juggling multiple companies.

"In naming him to the board for two years, Twitter got Musk to agree not to buy up more than 14.9% of its share ..."
It's like they offered him the directorship to clip his Wings, he spotted what the clever buggers were up to! He's cleverer than them, that's for sure....
Silicon Valley was originally advertised as a “free-spirited counterculture,” but has now transformed into a political monopoly, as shown by its collective rage at the prospect of billionaire Elon Musk's investments in Twitter, historian Victor Davis Hanson said Thursday.

An additional consideration. Musk is offering to buy Twitter at $54.20 per share. The current price of Twitter is $46.06. I fail to understand why Musk would be offering that much of a premium when he could be very quietly buying more shares near the current price. Seems that this "outrageous" offer may have been made to generate a lot of "noise" in financial circles and give the Twitter employees a case of deep panic. So will this end-up simply being a "pump and dump" situation? Musk may end-up laughing all the way to the bank with a tidy profit.
Several columnists and journalists from the "Democracy Dies in Darkness" paper are fearing for democracy with the Tesla CEO's efforts to take over Twitter.

"I am frightened by the impact on society and politics if Elon Musk acquires Twitter," Washington Post columnist Max Boot tweeted. "He seems to believe that on social media anything goes. For democracy to survive, we need more content moderation, not less."
Very Orwellian. We must censor free speech to "protect" democracy. And to think, the Washington Posts byline is "Democracy Dies in Darkness". The Post seems to have extinguished the light.
Fox News host gives his take on Elon Musk's offer to buy Twitter on 'Tucker Carlson Tonight.'

In Tuckers video above, we need to practice a bit of cognitive dissonance. There are two themes. One is business the other is free-speech. The free speech theme wraps around the business theme. Musk, through his proposal to acquire Twitter at a premium stock price has generate significant media attention and angst. Musk is unpredictable and probably fully believes in free-speech. Should the stock price of Twitter rise, Musk may well sell it for a profit. Potential he could use that money to support conservative social media. Carlson's comments on free-speech are superb. Nevertheless, there is a business angle to putting Twitter into play.
