Hi,

I am running a make table query. my access dB size is around 450 Mb. I am always getting the following error:"Not enough space on temporary disk"

My C drive and has like 30GB free. My temp folder reaches 1.95GB when I run this query (before that it is like 50mb). So I am thinking is it because of the Access 2GB limit (Access 2000) or is it because of some size restriction on the temp folder ?

Someone please help.
thanks in advance.

450 Mb is a very large db. Is it split? Have you Compact and Repaired it. If it is split you'll have to C&R the be db manually.

If you have A2003 SP3 have you applied the "hotfix".

What do u mean by split ? I will try C&R and then see. Btw my bad it is access 2000.

I did C & R and got the same error.
Btw when I did C & R as I have a autoexec macro it also ran. If I remove the autoexec macro (rename) will it make any difference in C & R ?

Splitting a db is standard practice when more than 1 user at a time is using it. When you split a db you create 2 dbs - a back end (be) db which contains only tbls and a front end (fe) db which contains all the other objects (eg qrys, frms, rpts etc). The fe is then linked to the tbls on the be. The be db is put on the server and the fe db is put on each of the local (client) computer's C: drive in a suitable folder.

You say you are running A2000. Exactly what vs are you running, because in A2000 to A2003 the default db created runs in A2000 mode.
