Not new, but certainly not an expert

Hi,
I just joined because I have recently become, by default, the DBA for a new non-profit. I was lucky enough to inherit the basics of the database from another group in the same domain, but a few things don't work and we want to make some changes. I have already learned a lot by searching and trial and error, but I have now reached the point where I need real help.
