Hi all, hoping you can help. I've just started using Access 2013, but hate it as I used to use Access 2003 all the time and everything is completely different!

I've created a form whose record source is a query. The query has plenty of fields in it. However, when I have Dynaset selected as the Recordset Type and then select form view, no records show up. They only show up if I select Snapshot. Anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

Also, there doesn't appear to be a maximise / restore down button in the top right any more, like there used to be. Surely there is a way to make a form appear in the middle of the screen at a size of your choosing, rather than filling the entire tab space?

Any help would be appreciated, I'm pulling my hair out here!

perhaps you have set the form to dataentry?

re the tabbed windows, you can easily change this back to overlapping windows - go to File>Options>Current Database and select overlapping windows - you'll need to close and reopen the db for the settings to take effect

That's brilliant! Thanks very much on both accounts. I did have it set to dataentry, and changing this sorted the form out. And the overlapping windows make it so much easier for me to navigate. You've made my day a lot less stressful!

I always use overlapping windows whilst developing - good to be able to see two or more forms side by side or compare the results of a query with a form or report etc.
