Hi-

I have been building a customer & sales lead database and was hoping I could get some help with a NotInList event. I have a menu form where the user will select a prospect from a combobox. The combobox is currently set up to not allow them to add items to the list. When a user types in a name that is not in the list I would like to use the NotInList event to launch my "Add Prospect" form and automatically populate the "Prospect Name" that they have already typed in the combobox.

I believe I can do this using "NewData" which the NotInList event holds, but I can't quite figure it out. I don't want them to be able to just add them to the list because we need to capture more information before the prospect record will be added.

Thanks,
Mike

Dude; it is really bad form to delete a thread once it has received a reply

It shows a total disregard for the person who has taken the time to suggest a solution to your problem.

My apologies John. I am at an airport with spotty wifi service and had not received the email alerting me that someone had responded to my thread before I deleted it. I had not referred the thread's page either. When I spent more time with my code I figured it out and didn't want to clutter the message boards. I was unaware you had responded.

No problem.

Safest way is probably just a post a quick note along the lines of; Never mind I figured it out :)

Because Murphy's law is sure to kick in as soon as you hit the delete key ;)
